A good weeks fishing
with 16 x 20 pounders landing on the banks at Creedy recently. Good news
for all those anglers who braved the busy bank holiday weekend as this
was the most productive time - particularly whilst the wind was fairly
strong and there was a good surface chop on the water. All three
main banks have produced some nice catches with ledger tactics and zig
rigs being the preferred method of fishing.
Heaviest fish for
the week was by Mick ??? on holiday from Essex who cast out into
mid water depths whilst fishing the far bank. His rods hadn't been
in the water long when a rod screamed off and after a 20 minute fight
Mick landed his specimen common which tipped the scales to 28lbs 2oz.
Les, Mick's younger brother not to be out done managed also to tempt a
common which weighed in at just over 20lbs.
Visiting
guest, , from Heathrow near London was well
pleased with his catch, a 23lbs common carp when he fished from the top
of the left hand bank amid shallower water depths. His fellow
angling companion, , also banked a nice common weighing just
over 22lbs.
Craig Stone of North
Petherton had plenty to smile about this week when he hooked himself a
new personal best fish, a well proportioned common carp weighing 25lbs
12oz. The somerset angler also landed three mid double figure
commons up to 20lbs. Exeter angler Danny Lee banked just the one
fish during his session at Creedy, his common tipping the scales to
23lbs exactly.
Graham Stephens of East
Brent fished at the top end of the right hand bank and tempted his first
ever 20pounder, a common carp which tipped the scales to 20lbs
5oz. The catch, a new personal best fish for Graham is pictured
below:

Graham's son, Martin,
also landed a nice catch, a common weighing 17lbs 10oz , also pictured
below:

Dave Morish of
Umberleigh, North Devon, recently fished the shelf swim on the far bank
and was well rewarded for the long walk around the main lake. Topping
his bag was a cracking mirror carp weighing 20lbs 8oz and was also
accompanied with two commons scaling 18bls 3oz and 15lbs 2oz.
Stockport angler Wayne
Ellor continues a good week and his best session consisted of 3 fish,
all doubles best weighing 21lbs 2oz..
Ollie Oakford of Exeter
had been planning his family outing for a couple of weeks
recently. Mum, Dad and Ollie chose to fish on the far bank and
after a slow start to the day 11 year old Ollie was well rewarded with
his catch, a common carp tipping the scales to 20lbs 2oz. Mum,
Caroline also managed to later tempt a nice common scaling 13lbs.
Tiverton's Guy Lavery
banked 3 commons with his best catch scaling 20lbs 1oz. Exeter
angler Jason Eveleigh hooked two comons best of 20lbs 8oz and Seaton's
Keith Osborne fished the right hand bank and tempted just the one fish
which weighed 20lbs exactly.
13 year old Reece
Williams from Salisbury recorded a 6 fish day recently. All the
fish were common carp and his heaviest fish for the day weighed in at
20lbs exactly. Junior angler Jordan Price also recorded a great
day when he landed a total of 4 fish one session. Topping his
catches wasa common scaling 22lbs 3oz which also set him a
new personal best catch. George Osborne fished the right hand bank
and landed 7 commons in all with his best fish scaling 20lbs.
Kingsteignton angler
Mark Walker fished mid way on the right hand bank and landed 5 commons
in all, all doubles. His catches ranged from 13lbs 4oz up to 18lbs
12oz and his combined bag weight totalled 80lbs of fish.
Bridgwater angler Shaun Deplege also found success on the right bank
banking 5 fish in total with 4 good sized commons best scaling 19lbs
together with a ghost carp weighing 13lbs 4oz. Geoff Jones also
enjoyed a good day';s sport banking 3 good commons best of 18lbs.
Up in the top lake Tony

scaled mirror carp which tipped the scales to 23lbs. Some good mid
